								Matkovich & Hayes Golf Estate Architects are able to offer developers and project managers a complete estate solution from pre-planning and feasibility stages all the way through design and construction to club management and turf maintenance. Developing a golf estate is a complex endeavour with many potential pitfalls, we aim to provide as many solutions as possible in an understandable and cohesive manner and to partner developers through all stages. Pre-Planning & Feasibility Using our experience gained from previous developments we can help in evaluating a piece of land suitable for the type of development proposed, and study the overall feasibility of the project. Based on the results of the research we put together a conceptual design for approval by the developer and ultimately by the Department of Environmental Affairs and local council. Golf Course Design & Construction Having designed and built approximately 20 golf courses in Southern Africa to USGA standards we are confident that we can design and build your course, or, if you already have a design we can build it for you. (For more details on construction or design see main menu) Traditionally, the golf course designer, golf course contractor, architects, civil/infrastructure designers and contractors work in isolation as per the diagram below. Matkovich & Hayes are in a position to solve many of these problems thanks to WBHO construction, who own a controlling stake of M&H. WBHO have not only done considerable earthworks, civils and building on a number of estates but have also co-developed a few. By using their experienced architectural and design associates we can design your entrance gate, clubhouse, hotel or any large structures for maximum efficiency and with aesthetically pleasing and appropriate finishes. Once designed, their highly experienced teams will then build them too.

WBHO Civils & Buildings

WBHO construction has vast experience in all aspects of civil engineering and they would be responsible for building all roads, dams and lakes, storm water systems and bulk earthworks across the entire estate.

By offering one Managing Contractor and working as one team, much of the confusion and duplication can be avoided, thereby saving the developer considerable amounts of money and time. Clear communication is paramount and with the combined teams only one site office is necessary to administer the entire site, staff and plant operations. Security, irrigation and landscaping can all be approached with a common goal.

Club Management

Club management is ideally appointed from early on in the project to ensure that the correct decisions are made, and systems put in place, during development and not afterwards. Matkovich & Hayes’ preferred provider of club management is Inside Right. Run by Dave Usendorff, Inside Right is a personally managed operation that can help you through this process, ensuring you have a have a slick and well-organised clubhouse.

Turf Maintenance

Wallington Sports Turf is our preferred turf maintenance provider. Headed by Mike Wallington, one of the foremost agronomists in the country, we believe that they are excellent partners to have on your course. From the grow-in phase through to long term maintenance and improvement, and tournament preparation, they have a highly skilled team to get your course superbly manicured.
