COTSWOLD DOWNS GOLF CLUB Hillcrest, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa (www.cotswolddowns.co.za)

Cotswold Downs was previously a sugar-cane farm that was transformed into a golf estate. It is a naturally hilly area and the golf course capitalizes on the undulations and weaves through beautiful indigenous bush that was untouched during farming operations. The course is located at a slightly higher altitude than most courses in the region and is cooler, with less humidity. This created ideal conditions for bent grass greens and Paspalum fairways, and as a result the course has set new standards for conditioning in the province.

Style: Parkland, Par 72, 2006
